Lage Raho...
So I finally watched Lage Raho Munnabhai. I had been waiting for it ever since I saw its trailers. I had quite some expectations from Lage Raho, having liked Munnabhai MBBS. And after hearing good reviews from many of my friends, the expectations only increased. And thankfully, it stood up to the expectations.I have seen many times that the sequels of hit movies, fail to stand up to the high expectations
of the public, especially comedies which somehow fail to maintain the level of jokes e.g. the hugely successful Hera Pheri and its sequel Phir Hera Pheri (I personally thought it was nothing compared to the hilarious first part!) Considering how well the first part of Munnabhai had been made, somewhere I had the feeling that it might go the Phir Hera Pheri way. But it has safely sailed through that hurdle. The transition from ‘Dadagiri’ to ‘Gandhigiri’ has been handled quite well in the movie. I thought the characters of Munnabhai and Circuit have been very well defined. Not once do they conflict the ones from Munnabhai MBBS. The not-so-funny (or even emotional) scenes were depicted better in Lage Raho than in Munnabhai MBBS.And now for the part I liked the most about the movie… the acting. Very good, and I mean VERY GOOD acting by EVERY SIGNLE PERSON in the movie! Sanjay Dutt is great, and has carried forward the Munnabhai character very
well from the first part. Boman Irani is brilliant (as always). He’s unbelievably good at portraying different characters. Dr. Asthana from the first part and the builder, Lucky Singh in the second part… hard to believe that they have been portrayed by the same person! Vidya Balan was sweet and did her part well, except for her quite-irritating yelling ‘good moooooornnnnning Mumbai’! Apart from that she’s done well and looks good too. Jimmy Shergil did his tiny role nicely. I even liked Dia Mirza. She looks very cute and acts well too. I often wonder why the likes of Aishwarya Rai and Kareena Kapoor are preferred over Dia Mirza… she looks much better than these two. Definitely no artificial smiles (or even giggles if I may say so) like a certain Miss Rai. And even her acting is much much better than the oh-so-artificial Ash and oh-I-am-so-bubbly Kareena. Abhishek Bachchan was awesome!!! Though he had a verrrrrrrrry tiny appearance, he sure left a lasting impression. Or maybe it’s just because I am a loyal admirer of Mr. Bachchan Junior. But of course, the kind of clapping and whistling he managed to get from the crowd in theatre, the kind of excitement he generated among the public, even with his two-minute appearance, speaks for itself. And now for the BEST part of the movie. Circuit A.K.A. Arshad Warsi. He was THE BEST among all other actors and he sure deserves a whole lot of praise. Often when an actor receives
huge praise for a certain character portrayed by him, he tends to overdo it in the sequel (even the very well-known and great actor, Paresh Rawal could not resist the temptation of overdoing Baburao Apte in Phir Hera Pheri!), and I was expecting something like that from Arshad Warsi too. But not once, did he overdo the circuit image. His comedy-timing is awesome. His dialogues like “leakage” and the one about predicting for the Indian Cricket Team are simply hilarious. And they do sound so spontaneous. Without taking any credit away from Sanjay Dutt, I would like to add that I often failed to notice Munnabhai when he was sharing the screen with Circuit. Apart from the comedy, Arshad Warsi showed that he can do well in emotional scenes as well. I liked him a loooottttt in the scenes where Munnabhai slaps him and later when he apologizes to him. Arshad Warsi sure came out a winner. I could go on and on and on about him. But I guess I have already written enough. But all in all Lage Raho was a great experience especially after having watched an awful Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna only a few weeks back. I sure won’t mind watching Lage Raho once more.

super review :)
yea Circuit was the best thing in this movie... Actually three of my fav scenes in the movie had Circuit..
first was ofcourse that sorry wala scene... second was that 'leakage... vinamra' scene and the third was after that song when Munna asks him to take Bapu to the taxi... and the taxi guy asks 'kisko kahan chodna hai?' .. 'mereko kya maloom?' :)
But I wont take anything away from Sanjay dutt who outclassed everyone most of the time.
He is probably the most complete actor after Big B. Anything he does, he is very very convincing.. See him in Kaante and you will be sure he had some role to play in the blasts lol.. See him in Mission Kashmir or LOC, it looks like Army roles are tailormade for him.. And see him in those David Dhawan movies with Govinda.. You will feel he is as useless as Govinda.. just like Big B was in Bade Miyan chote miyan.. And I wont even start about his performces in Khalnayak and Saajan..
what about the songs?? I prefer MBBS songs 'M bole to..' and that Gracy singh song.. Here thought the songs arent as good, the picturization is excellent isnt it?
And what about the actor who played the role of Bapu soo convincingly? nice na?
wish you couldve toned down the Ash-Bash :p Diya is pretty no doubt but definitely not in the class of Ash.. And Abhishek... People were clapping cos they were relieved.. everyone heard he is in the movie and they were glad he came only in the climax :p
Boman Irani was excellent.. I couldnt believe when he said in an interview recently that he was not ready to do Dr.Asthana's role cos of his hindi!!! and here he is playing the role of a sardar!!!!
hmm...Nice try...
But cmon yaar...Jr B had nothin 2 do 2 leave a lastin impression..hehe..
N at least u havent bashed Dia..glad for that...
N yaa...Circuit Rocks...u gt that rt..
Bt I still think Munnabhai MBBS was better than this one....
No i am also definitely not taking anything away from Sanjay Dutt.. he was good no doubt!! but somehow found arshad warsi better than him and couldn't help noticing him more over sanjay dutt.
the actor who played the role of Gandhi... a marathi actor Dilip Prabhavalkar.. Definitely his acting was awesome, so was the make up and get up and all.. was quite convincing.. in fact i had a hard time believing it was him when my friend told me!
Ash and class.. hmmm.. intersting..
well if giggling uncontrollably (and dumbly) for no apparent reason, giving fake smiles, and giving interviews as if she's in some beauty contest constantly defines 'her class', then surely Dia is not in her class.. nor are other good actresses of bollywood like madhuri dixit! :P
abhishek bachchan... definitely was too good though he had nothing to do!

ashish
jr b... thats exactly my point... he had nothing to do and yet he DID leave an impression.. why else r people talking so much about his 'cameo'?? (just like we r) :P why else were ppl clapping when he came on screen? :P
Oye!
There was just a single clap when Jr B was on screen:p..lol
and its u who started talkin abt Jr B...noone else;)...if at all ppl talked abt it was bcoz it was kinda surprisin...But Id compare that Cameo with SRK's in Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega....
btw..dont wanna start a fight over Jr B;)...
Jr B!!!!
when he puts that garland on Diya, I was expecting her to say "shaadi aur is tapori se?? kabhi nahi!! I am leaving with Victor"
Well, movie was Ok but wasnt that good at all. KANK should be given some credit for the success of LRMB.
